Sweden is a small but technically mature market: few companies lack an AI strategy, but far more lack the infrastructure required to turn that strategy into a system in production. Cloud Ape AB is an AI consultancy in Sweden that builds exactly that part — GPU capacity, model serving, RAG pipelines, and the operations and observability that keep it running.
We are based in Staffanstorp in Skåne and work with clients across the country. In practice that means on site for kick-off, architecture workshops, hardware installation and handover to operations — and remote the rest of the time. For most engagements that is a better model than having a consultant on site five days a week.
We don’t sell strategy on paper. We build, measure, and hand over.
What an AI consultant in Sweden can help you with
- AI platform engineering — one shared platform for GPU, models and data instead of ten isolated pilots.
- GPU infrastructure — bare-metal NVIDIA DGX on your own hardware or in your cloud environment, for training and inference.
- LLM serving with vLLM — your own open-weight models in production, with controlled latency and cost per token.
- RAG and vector search — AI that answers from your own documents, contracts and tickets, with a citation for every answer.
- Agentic AI — autonomous coding and case-handling agents that run inside your own environment.
- MLOps and AI operations — model versions, evaluations and monitoring of quality over time.
- Kubernetes and platform engineering — GPU scheduling, multi-tenancy and GitOps for teams sharing a cluster.
- Cloud architecture and migration — when AI has to coexist with existing infrastructure on GCP or Azure.
Where in Sweden we work
We are based in Skåne, but the engagement decides where we are. Four regions dominate our portfolio:
- Skåne and the Öresund region — our home ground, with Staffanstorp, Malmö and Lund. Life science, logistics, finance and manufacturing.
- Stockholm — finance, tech and e-commerce, often with group structures and a need for central cost tracking per team.
- Gothenburg and western Sweden — automotive and process manufacturing, where OT environments and long investment cycles set the pace.
- Northern Sweden — process and heavy industry, where AI often means condition monitoring, document interpretation, and extracting value from data already being collected.
Data sovereignty is a Swedish question
For Swedish organisations the hardest question is rarely which model is best, but where it may run and what may be logged. That applies in particular to the public sector, life science, finance, and anyone handling personal data or business-critical documents.
- Inference inside the EU. Self-hosted serving on your own hardware or in your own cloud environment, with network and access boundaries that can be reviewed.
- Data classification before model selection. What may go to an external API, what must stay in your own GPU environment, and what may not be used at all.
- Traceability. Logging of prompt, context and model version so a decision can be reconstructed months later — practically necessary before an audit, and a requirement under the EU AI Act for high-risk systems.
- Human in the loop. Clear escalation thresholds for agents that make or recommend decisions with legal or financial effect.
Large consultancy or specialist?
Both can be right, but they solve different problems. A large firm has breadth, procurement experience, and can staff a big programme. What you are paying for is, to a greater degree, coordination.
A specialist like us fits when the question is narrow but technically hard: getting a model into production, building a RAG pipeline that is actually correct, or setting up a GPU platform someone can operate afterwards. We run few engagements at a time, and the person who sells is the person who builds.
Typical engagements across Sweden
- A group with data requirements that wants sensitive document flows on its own GPU capacity instead of an external provider — with full traceability.
- An industrial company combining an existing Azure or GCP environment with on-premises GPUs, needing one coherent operating model.
- A life science company with reproducibility requirements, where a result must be recreatable with exactly the same model and data.
- A scaling product company with a working prototype that needs infrastructure which holds as customers multiply.
How an engagement runs
- Scoping. We map the data, the goals and the systems already in place — remotely or on site. What comes out is a written recommendation.
- Scoped proof of concept. The smallest version that proves the value, measured and documented, with criteria for what counts as success.
- Production and handover. Infrastructure as code, dashboards, alerts, runbooks and a walkthrough with your team — so you own the system afterwards.
What does an AI consultant in Sweden cost?
We work on an hourly retainer or a fixed price for a scoped deliverable. You always get a written estimate before work starts, and we propose the smallest step that actually answers the question — not the largest possible programme.
Frequently asked questions
Do you work as an AI consultant across Sweden?
Yes. Our office is in Staffanstorp in Skåne and we deliver to clients throughout Sweden — Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and the industrial regions of northern Sweden. We work on site for kick-off, workshops and handover, and remotely for the ongoing work.
Can you help with GDPR and the EU AI Act?
We handle the technical side: data classification, where inference runs, logging of model decisions, access control, and documentation you can show a reviewer. Legal advice we leave to your counsel.
What does an AI consultant in Sweden cost?
We work on an hourly retainer or on a fixed price for a scoped deliverable such as an architecture review, a proof of concept, or taking a system into production. You always get a written estimate before work starts.
Why a specialist rather than a large consultancy?
You work directly with a senior engineer who builds the solution themselves, with no intermediaries or junior staffing. We take on few engagements at a time and deliberately make ourselves redundant by handing over infrastructure as code and documentation to your team.
